Note: Some folders in this guide are hidden by default on both Mac and Windows. Follow the steps below to access them directly.

Mac

Step 1. Close Premiere

To avoid any issues, fully quit Premiere before uninstalling. If Premiere is open, the extension files will be locked and cannot be deleted.

Step 2. Open the Go to Folder window

To open the Go to Folder window, open Finder and press [Cmd + Shift + G]. A small search bar will appear on your screen.

Step 3. Delete the extension files

You will need to check two folder locations and delete the extension folder from each one.

First location (system-level):

  1. In the Go to Folder bar, paste the path below and press [Enter]:
    /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions

  2. Look for a folder called com.cutback.cep.

  3. If you see it, drag it to Trash.

Second location (user-level):

  1. In the Go to Folder bar, paste the path below and press [Enter]:
    ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions

  2. Look for a folder called com.cutback.cep.

  3. If you see it, drag it to Trash.

Note: If either folder does not contain com.cutback.cep, that is fine. Just skip it and continue.

Step 4. Clear the cache

To clear the extension cache:

  1. In the Go to Folder bar, paste the path below and press [Enter]:
    ~/Library/Caches/CSXS

  2. Delete the cep_cache folder.

Step 5. Restart Premiere

FAQs

I deleted the folders but the extension still shows in Premiere

If the extension still appears after deleting the folders, make sure you also deleted the cep_cache folder in Step 4. Restarting Premiere without clearing the cache can cause the extension to still show up.

I cannot find the com.cutback.cep folder in either location

If the folder is not there, the extension may have already been removed or was never installed at that location. Try restarting Premiere to confirm whether the extension is still active.
