If your captions don't line up with what's being said in your video (the timing starts a few frames before or after the spoken words), one of the following is likely the cause.

Switching the audio export format to Waveform can tighten your caption timing when it starts a few frames before or after the spoken words. This helps even with a single audio file or a voice-only track. Because Remove Silence relies on the same caption timing, fixing this also improves your silence removal results.

Premiere Assistant uses the full timeline to calculate timestamps. If you transcribed only a selected portion of the sequence, the timestamps won't align with the full timeline.

Before running [Transcribe Video], make sure you're not working with a limited range. Transcribe the full sequence.

Premiere Assistant and the Premiere timeline are not synced in real time. If you cut clips, move them, or add tracks after transcribing, the sync will break.

Finish all your Premiere edits before running [Transcribe Video]. Or, apply your edits from Premiere Assistant to the sequence first, then make any timeline changes after.

Premiere's multi-cam auto-sync can sometimes be slightly off. Before working in Premiere Assistant, make sure all your camera angles are properly synced in the Premiere sequence.

Note: If you're using a nested sequence for multi-cam, un-nest it before transcribing. Nested multi-cam sequences can cause sync issues.

If only part of your video is out of sync, open the [Timeline] panel in Premiere Assistant and manually adjust the affected sections.

Premiere Assistant automatically saves backup sequences as you work. To find them, open Premiere's Project panel and navigate to the cutback folder > backups. Each backup folder is named with the date and time it was created (for example, 20260614-2053). Open the sequence inside to restore an earlier version of your timeline.
