You shot 12 hours of interview footage across three cameras. Now you need to organize it, sync it, and find the moments that matter. Selects handles that entire first phase.
Import your video and audio files
When you open Selects, you see a home screen with a drop area in the center. To import your files, you can:
Drag and drop individual video files, a folder, or a mix of video and audio files
Click to select files or folders from your computer
For project size limits and supported file formats, see Selects System Requirements and Supported Video Formats.
Each import creates one project. To start a new project, go back to the home screen and drop in a new set of files.
Tip: Add only the files you need for your rough cut. Excluding unused source files speeds up AI analysis.
Arranging and syncing the workspace

Everything you import lands in the [Project] panel, in the same folder structure it had on your computer. If you added several folders, the files stay grouped inside them, with a file count next to each folder name.

Note: Files keep the structure you imported them with. Any clip can work as A-roll or B-roll when you build your edit, so nothing is sorted by role at import.
Synced timelines
If you shot multicam or recorded audio separately, group those files into a synced timeline before you analyze. A project can hold as many as you need. Learn more in Sync your files.
Check what will be analyzed
The top bar shows how many files you added, their total duration, and roughly what the analysis will cost in credits. Click the information icon next to it to open [Overview of media to analyze].
The overview breaks your media down by type, with a row for video and a row for audio only. For each, it shows the number of files, the media duration, and the credits it will cost, with a total at the bottom. Your current balance sits above it, so you can see the cost before you commit to anything.
Files you have already analyzed are excluded from the estimate and are not charged again.
Note: If your balance is too low for the media you have added, the top bar tells you before you start, rather than failing partway through.

FAQs
How much footage can it work on?
There are two types of limits applied to a project in Selects:
Total footage (all tracks combined): Up to 40 hours. This is the sum of all your camera track lengths. For example, 5 cameras × 8 hours each = 40 hours total.
Timeline length: Up to 10 hours. This is the total playback length of your project: the combined duration of all clips placed end to end on the timeline. Whether it's one long recording or hundreds of short clips joined together, the total cannot exceed 10 hours.
If your timeline exceeds 10 hours, split the project and sync each part independently.
Can I add files after creating a project?
Yes, and you can analyze them too. Add media any time from the + menu in prep, or from the project panel's more menu in the timeline. Each file you add gets its own [Analyze] button, so you choose what is worth the credits. Learn more in Add media to an existing project.
