New features, improvements, and fixes, newest week first. Your bug reports and requests shape this list, so keep them coming.
Found a bug? In Selects, go to [Help] > [Troubleshooting] > [Report Bug]. It sends your logs along with the report, which is the fastest route to a fix.
Want something added, or need to show us something? Click [Feedback] on your projects screen, or from the settings menu while editing, to chat with us right inside the app. You can also start a chat from the chat bubble on this page.

Adding files now skips Prep entirely. Drop or pick your footage and Selects creates the project for you and opens straight on the timeline, no separate setup step first. You can also add media and build synced timelines at any point in a project, not just at the start, and everything saves as you go. The full walkthrough is in What changed in Selects on September 9th, 2026
You can now use your ChatGPT subscription in chat. Connect it from the chat model picker and pick a model like GPT-6 Astra or GPT-5.6 Sol, Terra, or Luna, the same way you would connect Claude. Learn more in Which AI setup should you use in Selects?
Handoff now offers "Keep all cut points." Turn on [Keep all cut points] in the Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve handoff dialog to preserve every cut you made, including B-roll and standalone audio, instead of merging neighboring clips from the same source. It is on by default and remembered between exports.
Chat can save your way of working as a reusable skill. Anything you find yourself repeating to chat can be saved as a skill: how you switch between cameras, how long you like your cuts, how you name drafts and organize your files. Ask chat to save it, and future projects pick it up without you re-explaining. Chat links you straight to what it saved so you can read it back, and you change it the same way you made it, by telling chat what to adjust.

Everything else (15 improvements, 13 fixes)
🎬 Prep
There is no longer a limit on how much footage a project can hold in total. Each individual file can still be up to 10 hours.
Starting analysis now shows the estimated credit cost first, then one combined progress bar and a single completion notice for the whole batch. Projects with no name yet get one automatically once analysis finishes.
You can now add still images to a project and place them on the timeline. Images cannot be analyzed yet, so they carry no transcript or analysis of their own.
A new [Right-to-left transcript] option in transcript preferences flips the transcript, its navigation, and its selection to read right-to-left.
Selecting a clip inside a synced timeline now shows that file's transcript in the transcript panel.
A folder in the Project panel now shows when something inside it is still being analyzed, and canceling an analysis in progress no longer asks you to confirm first.
Very large transcripts, hundreds of thousands of words, can now be opened, scrolled, and edited without crashing.
An analysis that fails from a server timeout now retries automatically instead of just failing.
Importing a project you already have is now blocked with a clear message, instead of silently creating a duplicate that loses its analysis.
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
AI-assisted edits are more precise. Removing a word or phrase no longer expands the cut or gets rejected just because it would leave an isolated pause behind.
Timeline markers can now carry notes. Double-click or right-click a marker to add one, and hover to read it.
The keyboard shortcuts list can now be searched by action name or key.
Synced timelines are fully editable: cut, trim, and rearrange clips directly on them.
Preview frame size now includes 4K and a custom width and height option.
Chat now supports attaching more than one file at a time.
You can rename media files, drafts, folders, synced timelines, chats, and project titles the same way everywhere: click to edit, Enter to confirm, Escape to cancel. The Project panel also gained a sortable column for duration, date added, size, or kind.
Clicking a chapter or subtopic band no longer selects the clips underneath it or moves the playhead.
Starting a project by dropping or picking media on the home screen no longer also creates an extra, default-named draft.
A valid Claude subscription connection could be wrongly rejected as running an outdated client, and chat now names that reason instead of showing a generic "connection lost" error.
The multicam expand/collapse view now stays the same across tabs and sessions instead of resetting every time you switch.
Dragging files from Finder onto the timeline now works even when the Project panel is collapsed.
📤 Export
A failed export caused by missing source media now names the file and points you to the timeline's Locate button.
After you export a video, Selects asks how it went, the same rating prompt handoff already shows. It appears once per batch rather than once per file.
Exporting on Windows with a frame-rate conversion now works and produces standard video and audio output.
Video exports are stereo again, after a bug briefly made them mono, and exporting a fully empty timeline is now blocked with a clear message instead of failing partway through.
Leftover empty gaps at the end of B-roll or audio tracks after a cut, which could add extra seconds of black to an export, are now trimmed.
⚙️ App & Account
Windows updates are more reliable. They wait for Selects to fully close before replacing files, repair Start Menu, Desktop, and taskbar shortcuts, and automatically restore any AI files that go missing or get corrupted after an update.
Very large project archives, 2 GB and up, can now be imported successfully. A damaged archive now fails clearly instead of leaving partial files behind.
September 7th, 2026
Chat is out of beta. Chat was free while we were still building it. It is now a permanent part of Selects, and each request uses Selects credits based on the work it takes. Keeping it free while we kept building was not something we could sustain, and this is what pays for that work continuing. If you already pay for Claude Pro or Max, you can connect it and chat without spending Selects credits, or drive Selects from Claude, Codex, or OpenClaw with the Selects MCP. Your credits then go to analyzing your footage. Learn more in Which AI setup should you use in Selects?
Your topics now sit beside the transcript. The topic list used to live in the project panel, behind a double-click on a file. It is now in the transcript panel itself, as an outline of the draft you have open, so finding your way around a long piece is a glance instead of a hunt. It appears once your footage is analyzed and there are topics to move between.
Switching screens no longer cancels what is running. For several versions, moving to a different screen while something was processing could quietly stop it, so an analysis, an export, or a multicam sync would die halfway with nothing said. That is fixed, so you can start something and go work elsewhere in the app while it finishes.
Give your markers a color. Markers were all one green. Now you pick a color when you write the note, and it carries onto the timeline pin, into the [Comments] panel, and through to the sequence you hand off to Premiere, so a fix and a question no longer look the same. Click a marker on the timeline, then pick a color in the note.

The source panel has a third view that lists every file flat, with the folder rows dropped, so footage spread across a lot of folders takes one look instead of several expands. Open [Flat view] in the source panel.
A caption you split now stays lined up with the transcript when you go on to edit it, instead of drifting out of sync.
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
Graphics like title cards were stuck at whatever length they were placed at, with no way to trim or extend them. You can now drag their edges like any other clip.
[Compare with source] stays reachable while a source file is in view, instead of dropping out of reach just when you want it.
📤 Export
Exporting at 4K is noticeably faster.
Rating a handoff one star now sends your app logs along with the rating, so we can see what actually went wrong without asking you to write it up. The team reads every one of these.
August 31st, 2026
Export at 4K, and choose your frame rate. Video export now offers 4K alongside HD and FHD, plus a [Frame rate] option next to resolution, defaulting to your project's own rate. Open the export dialog and pick your resolution and frame rate (24, 25, 30, 50, or 60 fps, or keep the project rate).
More advanced multicam editing, right in chat. Ask chat to cut a multicam project and it switches cameras for you: following the speaker, cutting to reactions, and going wide at the right moments. You can direct it in plain language too, like "only switch cameras in this section", "hold this angle for at least five seconds", or "no cut shorter than three seconds". Open any multicam project and tell chat how you want it cut.
Handoff and export now run in the background. Whether you're handing off, exporting video, or exporting a transcript, progress shows in the navbar so you can keep working, and you can cancel partway through. They also remember your chosen [Save in] folder, so you're not clicking through a save dialog every time.
Pop the timeline into its own window. Handy for a second monitor: work the timeline separately from the rest of the editor, then dock it back when you're done. Right-click a draft tab and choose [Undock Panel] ([Dock Panel] brings it back).
Everything else (13 improvements, 19 fixes)
Everything else (13 improvements, 19 fixes)
🎬 Prep
Media sampling and keyframe extraction no longer look frozen under memory pressure. At least one worker keeps making progress, and a brief loss of memory telemetry no longer cancels your analysis.
Ask chat to check for shaky or blurry shots and it runs a fresh scan if none exist yet, and re-running analysis no longer erases bad-shot results you already have.
Selects no longer drops a second speaker when two people share one detected voice in a multicam project. Both keep their name and profile now.
Some HEVC footage that previously failed to decode now plays back correctly.
Editing a transcript word no longer drops its punctuation when the replacement text is unchanged.
Thumbnails keep their original aspect ratio instead of stretching to a fixed width.
Option prompts now have step-by-step navigation, a Skip button, a Recommended marker on the first choice, and hover descriptions.
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
Sequence loading is more reliable when multiple parts of the app request the same project at once. A recent edit is no longer silently reverted by a slow background load, and a deleted sequence no longer reappears.
Multicam lanes now show a camera's real coverage on the timeline, so cutting near a sync offset no longer makes it look like footage was deleted.
Preview playback starts faster after a seek, stalls less on large or 4K sources, and no longer shows a stale frame after certain edits.
Captions, titles, and stickers on the timeline can now be trimmed longer, up to the end of the draft beneath them.
Pressing a trim handle no longer clears your clip selection.
Transcript-based edit requests now work on older or partially analyzed projects instead of failing with a metadata error.
A disabled clip's name is easier to read now instead of fading into the clip.
A failed save now tells you plainly to undo your last edit and try again, instead of showing a technical error code.
Chat replies can include a clickable timestamp that jumps you straight to that frame in your draft.
Imported Premiere label colors are now carried onto clips and survive a full re-sync.
Rename a chat from the chat list's menu, and undo and redo (Cmd/Ctrl+Z, Shift+Z) now work in the chat composer.
Drag draft tabs to reorder them.
Camera and speaker keyboard shortcuts (camera select, cut to camera, speaker change) can now be rebound to keys of your choosing. Open [Keyboard shortcuts] to change them.
Turn on [Show subtopic clips] in the timeline's Preferences to see subtopic breaks as separate clips.
When chat delegates part of a request to a helper task, it now shows as a quiet one-line row instead of cluttering the conversation.
Clicking a draft tab now reliably switches to that draft instead of occasionally jumping back to the first tab while it's still loading.
Timeline edits (razor, delete, enable/disable clip, camera angle) now appear instantly and roll back visibly if saving fails, and Undo/Redo waits for edits in progress instead of racing them.
Timeline scrubbing feels smoother on large drafts, and filmstrip thumbnails and waveforms stay stable through razor, trim, and zoom.
Preview no longer flashes a blank frame when editing the current draft, and HDR footage in preview matches the exported look more closely.
Agent chat now collapses finished progress and tool calls into a single [Worked] row above the final answer, so long responses read cleaner.
📤 Export
Exports from projects with unusual frame rates (like 16.5 fps) no longer drift out of sync. Affected existing projects are corrected automatically the next time you open them.
Exported SRT transcripts now show correct subtitle timestamps at second boundaries, especially for NTSC frame rates (23.976, 29.97, 59.94 fps).
A DaVinci Resolve handoff now shows the same completion dialog as other handoffs, with your saved path, instead of a separate import guide.
⚙️ App & Account
The Mac window bar has a cleaner look: the title strip is gone, the navbar sits at the top and doubles as the drag handle, and a Home icon replaces the back arrow. Reset your zoom anytime with [Actual Size] (Cmd+0).
On Mac, the bug-report recording "Stop" and screenshot buttons, and the Intercom banner's close button, are now actually clickable.
August 23rd, 2026
Set your draft sequence to the frame size you need. Draft sequences used to inherit their frame size from the footage. Now you pick it (9:16 for vertical, 1:1 for square, 16:9, or 4:3 in either orientation, plus [Original] to match your source), and the sequence keeps that frame size when it opens in your NLE. Open [Frame size] in the Preview toolbar. Reframing the shots themselves is not in Selects yet, but it is coming.
Hand off from Prep, no analysis needed. Handoff used to require analyzed footage and a draft. Now you can sync your footage in Selects and send the synced timelines straight to Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve, folder structure intact. In Prep, click [Export project file] next to [Analyze media for edit].
Markers stay locked to your footage. Markers now sit on a frame of the timeline rather than on a transcript word, so they hold position through cuts, trims, reordering, and swapping takes. They also gather in the [Comments] panel, where you can send the whole set to chat with a prompt and have the agent work through every note at once, instead of aiming it at the whole draft. Click a marker on the timeline, then [Add note].
Import your shortcuts from Premiere, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve. No more rebinding by hand: pick a preset or your own shortcut file, and Selects finds the one already installed on your machine. Open [Keyboard shortcuts], then [Preset] or [Import].
Everything else (15 improvements, 16 fixes)
Everything else (15 improvements, 16 fixes)
🎬 Prep
An import that gets blocked now tells you which clips are the problem, which track each one sits on, and how much shorter it is than its source, so you can go fix those clips instead of guessing at a count.
Hover any file in the Prep file tree for [View topics] and [Add to timeline]. [Add to timeline] drops that file straight onto the end of your open draft, which saves a trip through the menus when you are assembling by hand.
Analyzing footage that lives on an external drive or a NAS is much faster, because Selects now reads each file in a single pass instead of jumping around it.
Transcripts, captions, SRT and TXT exports, and copied text now come out punctuated and sentence-cased, so what you paste elsewhere reads like written text. Search matches what you see too, including a word typed as "Hello,".
Dragging clips onto a Prep timeline stacks them vertically by default, which is what you want for multicam. Hold Option to lay them side by side instead.
Footage in codecs your browser cannot handle, including some HEVC and AV1 files, now falls back to native decoding and plays normally instead of being written off as unplayable.
Relinking no longer cares about extension case, so a project shot as interview.MP4 reconnects to interview.mp4.
Removing media from a project no longer deletes the file and its analysis from disk. It only drops the project's reference, and undo puts it back, so a mistaken delete is no longer permanent.
Multicam sync is steadier on chaptered GoPro and DJI footage, and syncing now works on Windows when your file paths contain non-English characters.
When a sync fails because the audio could not be sampled, it now says so, instead of telling you the clips have no audio and sending you off to check the wrong thing.
Imported timeline XML keeps your video track order, so V1, V2, and V3 arrive stacked the way they were in your editor rather than upside down.
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
You can switch a clip off instead of deleting it. A disabled clip plays as black and silent in the preview and in your export, and a clip on a lower track shows through, so you can try a cut without losing the material. Right-click a clip and choose [Disable clip], or use the shortcut from your editing tool preset.
Selects tells you when the agent needs you. If it is running in the background and the agent asks something or finishes, a desktop notification shows the actual question or answer, and clicking it drops you back into that chat, so you can leave a long job running and go do something else.
Undo and redo now behave as single, predictable steps across Prep and the timeline, covering the file tree, folders, syncing, timeline imports, drafts, and names and terms. One action, one undo.
Your chat history now shows conversations from both agent generations in one newest-first list, and reopening an older one continues it on the agent that started it, so nothing you asked for last month is stranded.
A new draft takes the frame size and sample rate of the first clip you place on it. Frame rate still follows the project.
[Cut filler words] and [Restore filler words] now run through chat, sending your chosen categories and pacing as a request rather than applying an edit on the spot, so you can see what it plans to do.
Chat shows a retry status while a reply is being retried, so a slow response no longer looks like a hang, and agent errors now carry a short code you can quote to us.
The tool panel lists every tool while you are looking at analyzed footage, so you can see what exists, and asks you to pick a draft when a tool needs one.
Smaller touches: the playback time is centered in the video toolbar, [Compare with source] is now an icon toggle, draft clips show the media file behind them, and the timeline ruler draws finer ticks between labeled times.
Dragging a side panel shut no longer crashes the timeline, and the panels that remain keep the widths you set instead of snapping back to defaults.
Switching view modes no longer kills a conversation the agent is in the middle of, so you can rearrange the screen while it works.
Filmstrip thumbnails now come from the stretch of clip they actually cover, so you get fewer wrong or black frames when you zoom out.
B-roll overlays are silent in the preview, matching what you get in the exported file, so what you hear while editing is what you ship.
[Check names and terms] now rewrites transcript text only and leaves your chapter and subchapter titles alone.
The playhead no longer jumps back to an earlier spot when the same source is used more than once.
The trial dialog no longer reappears every time you create a project.
Audio no longer runs through pitch correction at normal speed, and AAC tracks missing a piece of metadata now decode.
📤 Export
A clip you disabled while prepping no longer carries that state into a draft or a handoff.
⚙️ App & Account
[Learn more] has moved from the start page into the profile menu, where you can reach it any time rather than only before you open a project. The Google sign-in wait screen is simpler and clearer too.
On Windows, updating no longer relaunches the previous version, and machines already stuck in that loop recover on their next launch with nothing for you to do.

Chat using your own Claude subscription. If you have a Claude Pro or Max plan, connect it from the Assistant's model picker so your chat runs on your plan instead of Selects credits. Open the model picker and choose [Claude subscription]. Learn more in Which AI setup should you use in Selects?
Selects credit top-ups no longer expire. Paid top-up credits used to disappear at your next monthly reset. Now they stay in your balance until you actually use them. Check your balance from your account dashboard.
Switch to a Vertical video layout, or a focused Comment mode. A new [View mode] button in the timeline's top bar rearranges the editor for what you're doing: [Vertical video] pulls the preview into a full-height column for 9:16 content, and [Comment mode] narrows the screen to preview, transcript, and chat so you can drop timecoded comments on your draft and send them to chat as a batch. Selects remembers your choice per project.

AI agents connected through the Selects MCP no longer mistake an empty subfolder for an empty project, and starting an analysis no longer reports a false failure that caused it to run twice.
Selecting a folder Selects doesn't have permission to read no longer looks like an empty folder.
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
Switching a full draft to multicam works again for projects where the multicam flag had gone stale, instead of showing a mistaken "no multicam footage" error.
⚙️ App & Account
Eligible users, including some on older legacy plans, now see a [Claim free credits] button in the profile usage panel.
Signing in with Google is more reliable, with a clear waiting screen while sign-in completes and clearer error messages if something goes wrong.
Billing history now shows your Stripe invoices alongside older Lemon Squeezy payments in one place.
Voucher invitations now correctly grant the invited Selects plan after signing in with Google, including for existing Google accounts.

One project, many synced timelines. Each interview, session, or shoot day gets its own synced timeline instead of everything being squeezed onto one, and a single draft can weave across all of them. Syncing is yours to control too: nothing starts automatically, prep chat asks first, and you can also import a timeline you already synced in Premiere or Final Cut Pro.
Any resource can be A-roll or B-roll. There is no main timeline anymore deciding what your footage is allowed to be. Any clip works either way, on the same track as your A-roll or a separate one, and a draft can pull from synced timelines, single clips, and audio together.
Add more media whenever you need it, even after a project is created. Add files from the [Add media] menu in the [Project panel]. Nothing is analyzed automatically. Each file gets its own [Analyze] button, so you choose what to spend credits on, and the same button retries anything that failed.
You only pay for analysis that works. Anything that fails to analyze is never charged. If you stop midway, the files that already finished stay analyzed, and you will not pay for them again. See the estimate, with a Credits column per resource, in [Overview of media to analyze] before you start.

Analysis reports its outcome once, where you actually are, and tells you why anything failed so you can try those clips again
Audio scoring now looks at the five minutes with the most speech instead of always the first five, so quieter speakers are less likely to be missed on long recordings
Media you import into prep but never place on the timeline is no longer lost when the project is created. It is kept as B-roll and sound files
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
Chat moved into the [Assistant] panel on the left, with show and hide now at the bottom left
Camera switching happens entirely in chat, and the manual panel is gone
Editing tools are collected into one [Tools] menu: [Remove silence], [Cut filler words], [Speaker audio settings], and [Check names and terms]
The floating timeline toolbar keeps the cutting tools, and gains [Add marker] and [Shortcuts] under [More], plus a [Speakers] button
Group drafts, synced timelines, and files into folders that carry through to your export, or ask chat to do the filing. Drop in a screenshot of the bin structure you use in your editor and it will match it
New [Comments] mode: leave comments on a draft at specific timecodes, then send the whole batch to chat at once
Attach an image to a chat message when it is easier to show than describe
Selects marks shaky, blurry, and out-of-focus stretches on the source timeline, on by default. Ask chat to clean them off a draft, and it removes them on a single camera, or switches to a clean angle of the same person on multicam. Turn it off with [Mark bad shots in source] under Preferences, Timeline (Find shaky and blurry shots)
📤 Export
Handing off to DaVinci Resolve now gives you a Resolve project file (.drp) instead of a zipped XML, so you open it directly and relink far less
⚙️ App & Account
Audio rendering is steadier on long timelines
Billing history now shows invoice dates and payment dates separately, so retries are easier to tell apart from renewals
Payment failure messages and retry status are clearer
Scheduled cancellations now show the cancellation date instead of the next renewal date
Cancelling a subscription now works when browser translation is turned on

You can export to Final Cut Pro without audio drifting. Selects catches media that would play audio ahead of the picture and offers to fix it for you before export, and your original files are never touched (Hand off to your NLE, or export a transcript or video).
Silent footage no longer breaks your export. Footage recorded with no audio, like drone shots, hands off to Premiere Pro without errors, and older projects that hit this are repaired the moment you open them.

Every audio channel from your camera reaches Premiere Pro. If you record three or more channels on a Ninja V, FX6, or similar, channels three and up no longer arrive silent, something several of you reported.
You can now import Insta360 .insv files. Drop them into a project like any other video, with no converting first (Selects System Requirements and Supported Video Formats).
Your color labels stay unchanged through additional edits. Labels on clips and B-roll survive Camera Switching, Auto Scene Mix, and any prompt-based edit, so you are not redoing them after every pass (Refine Your Draft).

Re-editing a draft with small tweaks finishes in seconds instead of running a full re-analysis.
The red marker on a clip that failed to sync is no longer mistaken for a color label you set yourself.
Dragging a file and dropping it outside the chat box no longer risks closing the app.

You can check your credit balance directly in the app. Click your [profile avatar] for what is left, the hours of footage it covers, and buttons to top up or compare plans (Selects App: Plans and Pricing).
You get more customizable handoff settings for Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve. A settings dialog opens where you can choose captions, chapters, and whether to include the full timeline (Hand off to your NLE, or export a transcript or video).
Selects works on your company's network. If your office routes traffic through a proxy or inspects encrypted traffic, chat and downloads connect properly instead of failing on you.
Word timing in your transcript is more accurate. A new alignment model cut word-timing error by roughly a fifth, so trims sit closer to the speech and captions line up better.

Chat-based editing arrives in beta, and it is free while the beta runs. A [Beta] badge sits beside it, and hovering it confirms that no credits are used during the beta. (Edit with chat)
Drafts now consider what is on screen, not only what was said. The cut reads your footage as well as your transcript, so a striking shot survives even where nobody is speaking.

Your HDR footage looks the way you shot it. No more washed-out preview and no more washed-out export, with nothing for you to switch on.
4K and HEVC footage plays back smoothly. Selects scales the preview while you work and streams frames continuously, and a badge tells you when quality is lowered (your export stays full quality).
You can keep working while your draft builds. Selects messages you the moment it is ready, instead of leaving you watching a progress bar (Edit with chat).
Your exports match your footage's frame rate. Handoffs conform to the lowest frame rate in your project, and Final Cut Pro exports cap at 60fps so they open cleanly (Hand off to your NLE, or export a transcript or video).

B-roll appears in preview stills instead of the footage underneath it.
Undo and redo no longer fire twice on macOS.

Editing a word in the transcript no longer loses the edit.
[Prompt directly] on an empty draft runs the edit in that draft instead of creating another one.
Trim keeps the opening and closing clips you picked, and no longer fails when a removal spans several chapters.
📤 Export
The note box after a handoff rating now appears whatever score you give, not just low ones, so you can tell us what went well too.
B-roll and music tracks stay continuous through handoff instead of being sliced at the words you cut.
⚙️ App & Account
Windows machines with a discrete graphics card now use it for hardware decoding, including over remote desktop.
Free trial users with granted credits are no longer blocked from creating a project.

You can rate the edit right after handoff. Leave a note too, and it goes straight to the team building Selects, who read every one.
Your timeline plays back noticeably smoother. Frames no longer drop when playback crosses a clip boundary or after you scrub, which you will notice most on multicam and high-resolution footage.
You can jump straight to your editor in one click. Set your main editing tool in [Preferences] and the Handoff button becomes [Continue in Premiere Pro], or Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve (Hand off to your NLE, or export a transcript or video).
Handoff can send several timelines at once. When a project has more than one draft, handoff asks which you want, so you are not exporting them one at a time.

Sync now reports exactly which clips failed and why, such as no audio track or could not be aligned (Sync your files).
You get a system notification when a long multicam sync finishes or fails, so you can leave it running.
Media with Apple Positional Audio tracks now imports reliably.
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
Start a clean conversation with [Restart chat], or pull up something you asked earlier with [Past prompts].
Long pastes into chat become a single attachment chip you can expand or remove, and a message that is too large says so instead of quietly failing.
Drafts are now created through chat, so the [Match a YouTube video] option has been retired.
Waveforms stay smooth and aligned while you drag a trim handle, instead of flickering or blanking out.
Adding a subchapter inside a single clip now works, instead of silently doing nothing.
Per-track volume works on multicam projects.
Dropdowns and menus opened inside a dialog are no longer hidden behind it.
Trim no longer fails when protected words overlap an edit, or when your prompt lays out its own chapter plan.
Matching speakers now completes on very large multi-camera projects.
📤 Export
The draft list in the handoff picker scrolls instead of running off the screen.
⚙️ App & Account
The free trial is now described as 3,600 credits, about 10 hours of footage, rather than as a one-week trial.
A required update restarts the app for you once it has finished downloading.
Projects carrying leftover state from an older version no longer show up broken in the progress panel.

Selects is more accurate at telling your speakers apart. It works out who is present and when more reliably, runs faster, and large projects no longer drop to the slower method (Check names and terms before editing).
Your footage is ready about five times faster. Thumbnail and keyframe extraction got much quicker, with a dedicated fast path for ProRes on Apple silicon (How AI analysis works in Selects).
Credit estimates count only what actually gets analyzed. B-roll and source files outside your main timeline are left out, so there are no surprises halfway through (Selects App: Plans and Pricing).

🎬 Prep
Multi-channel audio inside a video file is no longer wrongly broken apart into separate mono sources.
Relinking B-roll now scans your B-roll files too, not just the main timeline.
Solo versus multicam detection decides from the angles that are usable, instead of giving up when one angle is empty.
Big multi-track projects fall back to shared audio far less often when matching each speaker to their mic.
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
Short clips cut on cleaner word boundaries and follow the pacing you asked for (Create Shortform Clips).
Trim follows explicit instructions about chapter counts, timestamps, and targeted cuts more faithfully.
Chat picks up where it left off after a reconnect, and offers quick actions when a conversation is empty.
Extending a clip no longer deletes the clip beside it in older projects.
Selecting a chapter in the transcript maps to exactly that range rather than the whole clip around it.
Clip thumbnails match what actually plays when a video track has gaps or is hidden.
Best-take selection no longer crashes on retake groups.
📤 Export
Finishing an export gives you a confirmation with an [Open folder] button.
Overlays now warn you up front that they do not carry over to Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
⚙️ App & Account
Projects left half-finished by an interrupted job no longer crash the app on the next launch.
The MCP setup window is now titled [Connect to Selects MCP], and connecting from the Claude desktop app on Windows works (Connect Selects to your AI agent with the Selects MCP).

💳 New Selects plans went live on June 1. Everything now runs from one shared pool of credits instead of separate hour limits per feature, so you spend your balance however you like across analysis, drafts, and search. See Selects App: Plans and Pricing for the plans and what a credit covers.
You can ask Selects to set up your timeline. Chat is open to everyone on the [Prep] page: ask it to add footage, place clips, and run sync in plain language (Sync your files).
Handoff to Premiere Pro has more options. In [Handoff settings], choose whether topics arrive as captions, as markers, or not at all, include only the audio tracks you actually used, and add a gap between topics (Hand off to your NLE, or export a transcript or video).
You can see how many credits a project will use before you start. The Prep page shows the estimate next to your footage duration, and if your balance is short you get an [Add credits] button rather than an error partway through analysis.
Creating a project is more reliable on a weak connection. Selects compresses the audio it sends for analysis, so uploads are far smaller and much less likely to fail, a problem many of you reported.

Selects is more accurate at telling people apart when they talk over each other or trade turns quickly, in every language.
Starting an edit from the Prep page no longer stops to ask whether you want to sync the main timeline first.
Audio plays from the right file again after you move your media and reconnect it.
✂️ Drafts & Timeline
Right-click any clip or audio track to give it a color, and your colors carry over to Premiere Pro (Refine Your Draft).
Timeline editing pauses while chat is working, with a message explaining why, so the two cannot fight over the same edit.
Drafts cut at cleaner boundaries, and stray reactions are trimmed out of cut-ins.
Clicking a speaker in the multicam panel steps through each place they talk, instead of always jumping back to the first.
Preview playback lines up with your cuts.
Audio no longer drifts a fraction out of sync with video on synced timelines.
Switching takes no longer leaves slivers of the previous take behind.
The transcript cursor follows the part that is actually playing instead of jumping backwards.
The playhead no longer jumps ahead when it reaches a B-roll region.
Solo recordings shot on two cameras now cut between both angles instead of falling back to a placeholder.
Audio-only projects get a real best take instead of always keeping the last one.
📤 Export
Handoff progress names each step and can be cancelled partway through.
The handoff settings window can no longer be dismissed while an export is running, and the cancel button on the progress overlay works.
