This article covers the configuration options available in Selects: keyboard shortcuts, transcript display preferences, and account settings, including plans, language, and MCP.

Main Timeline Workspace Settings

👉🏼 Click the Settings icon to open the workspace settings dropdown.

Transcript

Transcript settings control how the transcript panel displays content during editing.

  • [Show cuts (grayed out)]: When enabled, cut sections remain visible in the transcript as grayed-out text. When disabled, cut sections are hidden entirely. Keeping them visible is useful when you want to restore previously cut content. Hiding them gives you a cleaner reading experience.

  • [Show silence frame length]: When enabled, silent gaps in the transcript display the exact number of frames. When disabled, silent gaps show as "..." instead. Frame counts are useful when you need precise timing information during cleanup.

Check names and terms

Use this tool to review and correct proper nouns in your transcript before you start editing.

Main editing tool

Select the primary editing tool (NLE) where you plan to continue editing your video.

Keyboard shortcuts

Click [Keyboard shortcuts] to view the available keyboard shortcuts and presets. The panel shows shortcuts organized by workspace area: General, Timeline, Source Panel, and Transcript Panel. You can view the full shortcut reference here, and switch between presets at any time.

Selects supports keyboard shortcuts that match popular NLE conventions. Three shortcut presets are available: Premiere, Final Cut Pro, and DaVinci Resolve. Choose the preset that matches your primary editing software so muscle memory carries over.

Click [Customize] to modify any shortcut to fit your workflow.

Currently, Selects is available in 10 languages: English, Español, Português, 한국어, 日本語, 中文(简体), Français, Italiano, Deutsch, and Türkçe.

The interface updates immediately. No restart needed.

Logout

Click [Logout] to sign out and switch accounts.

Projects in Selects are saved to your machine, not your account. If you log out and sign in with a different account on the same computer, your existing projects will still be there.

Note: The free trial is also linked to your machine. If you have already used a free trial on this computer, starting a new account will not give you another one.
