Selects can find the parts of your footage you probably cannot use: shots that are out of focus, shaky, or soft. Ask chat to check, and it scans your footage and marks what it found on the source strip.

To find the bad shots, ask chat to check, for example "check for blurry shots" or "find the shaky parts". Selects scans your footage and marks what it finds. The scan runs while you wait rather than in the background, so give it a moment on a large project.
Note: Scanning does not run automatically as part of analysis. Until you ask, the source strip stays clean even on footage that has finished analyzing.
See where the bad shots are
Bad shots are marked on the source strip, not on your draft. The source strip is the view of the whole original file, and it only opens once you select that file, so you will not see any marks until you do.
Open the [Project] tab in the left panel.
Click the original video file in the panel.
The source strip opens below the preview, with the unusable stretches marked in red stripes.
Note: Selecting your draft instead of the source file will not show the marks. It has to be the original video file.
The marks show by default once a scan has run. To hide them, open the preferences menu in the top bar and click [Mark bad shots in source] under [Timeline]. The setting sticks between sessions.
Clean them up
To clean up the bad shots, ask chat, for example "fix the blurry shots" or "remove the shaky parts". If nothing has been scanned yet, chat runs the scan first and then works from what it found, so you do not have to scrub through your footage. It tells you what it changed when it is done.
FAQs
I do not see any marks on my footage
If you do not see any marks, the most likely reason is that nothing has been scanned yet, since scanning does not run automatically. Ask chat to check for blurry or shaky shots first. If you have scanned and still see nothing, check that you clicked the original video file in the [Project] tab and not your draft, since the marks only appear on the source strip, and that [Mark bad shots in source] is switched on. A clean strip after a scan simply means there was nothing to mark.
Can I search for blurry shots?
No, you cannot search for blurry shots. Scene search matches what is happening in a shot, not how sharp it is, so searching for "blurry" will not find them. Ask chat to check for them instead, and it can act on what it finds directly.
Does this work on footage I added later?
Yes, this works on footage you added later. Ask chat to check again and mention the new files, or say you want the whole project checked, so the new footage is included in the scan.
