The start and end timing of each subtitle is based on a single line.
Also, if a line contains only spaces, the subtitle will not be displayed.
So, if you want to hide subtitles only during non-speech sections, insert a line break after the sentence as shown in the image.
For smoother subtitle transitions, manually adjust the duration in the timeline panel.
