I hear choppy or unnatural audio even after deleting certain words.

Updated over a month ago

This can happen if small audio fragments remain around the deleted words, causing awkward cuts.

Here’s how to fix it:

  • Check the Cutback panel for leftover speaker blocks. These are often parts of deleted words, breaths, or background noise between sentences. Mark and delete them as needed.

  • Use the Cutback Timeline Panel to fine-tune the waveform for smoother transitions.

  • In Premiere Pro, apply an Audio Crossfade effect between clips to smooth out abrupt cuts.

Cutback provides editing at the word level, but if the timestamps for each word aren’t perfectly aligned, cuts may sound rough. We’re working on improving this to provide more accurate and natural results!
