Your A-roll tells the story through words. B-roll adds visual depth. Selects identifies B-roll clips during import and organizes them so you can place them quickly.

B-roll

Open the [B-roll] tab in the [source panel] to see all B-roll clips Selects detected.

Browse and place manually

Browse thumbnails to find the right cutaway for the moment. Drag any clip onto the timeline to place it over your A-roll at the exact frame you need.

Auto-place B-roll

Click [Auto add] to let Selects automatically place relevant B-roll clips throughout your edit. It analyzes your transcript, identifies where cutaways would strengthen the narrative, and inserts them. You can then fine-tune placement or remove any clips that do not work.

Note: Auto-place B-roll only works with B-roll that was analyzed when the project was created. B-roll added after the project is set up is not analyzed.

Search your B-roll library

Use the search bar and select [B-roll] from the dropdown to find specific shots by description. Faster than scrolling when you know what you have but need to locate it.

Open the [Audio] tab to browse, preview, and drag audio tracks onto your timeline. This includes any music files imported with your project. All your supporting media stays in one place.
