The "Match a YouTube video" option lets you use an existing YouTube video as a reference for pacing and editing rhythm. This feature is currently in Beta, so results could vary based on content type.
How It Works
On the edit direction screen, select Match a YouTube video. Paste a YouTube video URL. Selects analyzes that reference video's pacing, cut rhythm, and structure. It then generates an edit of your footage that applies a similar editing style.
The AI studies the reference video's timing patterns and cut frequency. It measures how long shots hold, how quickly cuts occur, and what the overall rhythm feels like. It generates a draft of your footage that mirrors that rhythm.
When to use this
This is useful when you produce a recurring series and want to maintain a consistent style across episodes. If you have already edited a previous episode and want the next one to follow the same pacing and structure, paste the published video as a reference. Selects applies that editing rhythm to your new footage, giving you a consistent starting point without rebuilding the style from scratch every time.
Important: This is Beta
Since this feature is in Beta, results may vary. It works best with clearly structured content like talk shows, interviews, and vlogs. Highly experimental or abstract content may not produce useful results. Always refine the generated edit in the editor workspace before finalizing.
