Script-Based Video Editing: Match Your Script to Footage

Paste or upload a script and Selects matches it to your footage. AI aligns transcript segments to script sections and builds a draft that follows your narrative.

The "I have a script" option lets you paste a written script and have Selects match it to your footage automatically. This is powerful when your final structure is already decided in text form.

How It Works

On the edit direction screen, select I have a script. Paste your written script into the text field. Selects compares your script against the transcript of what was actually said on camera, then assembles an edit that follows your script's structure.

The AI identifies which moments in your footage correspond to each line of your script. It sequences them in the order your script specifies. It produces a matched edit in the editor workspace where you can refine further.

Best Use Cases

Script matching works particularly well for pre-written interview segments where you have a clear narrative arc. It's excellent for narration-driven pieces where the voiceover or talking points are already drafted. Use it for any project where the final structure is predetermined and you want the edit to follow that structure.
