Start from Scratch: Manual Editing in Selects

Skip AI draft generation and edit directly from your assembly cut. Use the full Selects editor with timeline, transcript, and all tools available from the start.

Selects provides your full analyzed footage organized by topics and subtopics in the left panel. The complete transcript with word-level timing appears in the right panel. From here, you build your edit on top of what the AI has already cleaned up.

How to Build Your Edit

In the left panel, browse topics and subtopics. Click the plus button on any topic or subtopic to add it to your draft, or drag it directly onto the timeline.

You can also select sentences or paragraphs in the transcript on the right and drag them to the timeline to add specific segments.

Use search tools to find exact moments across your footage. Combine these methods to assemble your timeline exactly as you envision it.

When to Choose This

Choose manual editing when you have a very specific creative vision that does not fit AI suggestions. Choose it when you want to explore the footage yourself before committing to a structure. Choose it when AI suggestions do not match the type of edit you need, whether because your content is too specialized or your creative approach is too unconventional.

You Still Have AI Tools

Starting from scratch does not mean working without tools. All AI features remain available: cleanup tools remove dead air, camera switching adjusts angle variations, and search finds specific moments instantly. You are simply building your timeline manually instead of starting with a pre-built AI draft.

This approach gives you maximum control over structure and pacing while keeping efficiency tools at your fingertips.
